Be your Own Judge

Dear members, after much thought, we have decided to post in full, the letters addressed to different organizations concerning Rev. Mugo. I want to be as objective as possible. I don't know about you, but the writer seems to have a great deal of knowledge of Kenyan geography. Read all of it below

RE: John Mugo Mwangi
Dear Bishop Herzog, I am writing today, sadly, to let you know that things with John Mugo Mwangi continue to disintegrate here in Dallas. He has displayed behavior which is not consistent with gospel values of honesty and integrity. As John has affiliated himself with the American Anglican Church, I am writing specifically to make sure that you are aware of three very serious concerns. (1) John is not a priest in good standing in the Diocese of Thika or any diocese in the Anglican Church of Kenya. Because he is under discipline for good cause, his credentials are invalid for transfer to you or any other Anglican bishop. I have talked personally with John’s bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Gideon Githiga, Bishop of Thika (Kenya), and learned from him that John has been “sacked” from the Diocese of Thika “for issues of pastoral integrity,” that he has been “defrocked,” that he has “caused a lot of harm in the diocese,” that he is “not a man of good character,” and that he is “extremely dangerous.” I told Bishop Githaga that I was going to be sharing these things with you. You may want to contact him directly, via e‐mail, at ackthika@swiftkenya.com, or on the phone, at 011‐254‐7111‐79597. (2) John appears to be violating the terms of his F‐1 student visa. I have been told that John is working illegally at a local convenience store and that he is being paid by the group of people he has gathered around himself. If so, it appears he is not abiding by US immigration laws and regulations. I’m sure you agree that ministers of the gospel should be diligent in abiding by the just laws of the land in which they serve. (3) John continues to cause scandal and division among the faithful here in Dallas. He has sewn much confusion, splitting apart friends and even family members. He has defamed my colleague, the Rev. Jacob Muiruri. Valuable resources have been spent defending Trinity’s ministry against untruth. The name of the Anglican Church has been abused. Part of John’s strategy seems to be to attack Trinity for its association with the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas, suggesting that we support liberal theology, gay clergy, etc. Nothing could be further from the truth, yet many have been confused and wounded by the claim.

Bishop, I am very sorry to have to write you in this way about John’s behavior, but I believe you need to know what is going on. In all due respect, we urge you to take immediate action to prevent further scandal among the flock of Christ. Specifically, we ask you, as the one under whom John says he is operating, to direct John to stop his church plant, to repent of his misbehavior, to submit to church authority (Bishop Githiga), to dismiss his followers (with an apology), and to get back to his studies until such time as he might be restored to the ministry. Please do what you can to help us, Bishop. Jacob has worked very hard for eight years, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, to build this ministry, and it is sad to see it being attacked and destroyed by one we had previously loved and trusted.
Your brother in Christ,
The Rev. William Lovell Rector

  1. This letter clearly outlines that not all advice is meant to derail ones ambitions. even though we might not agree fully, those in the ministry of mercy are more willing to help those who go astray. Even though i feel sorry for Mugo for been incaserated, if he comes out, he has a lot of answers to his followers. Some of those questions are 1) Lack of accountability, 2) The fact that he is preaching to us even though he is defrocked and 3) He divided a church in Kamwangi,Kenya and that's why he could not preach in Kenya. If you live by a lie, you go out in lies too. What goes around comes around. I hope he comes out and fends for his family but he ought not preach to us again before he comes clean.

  4. I have one respect for Pastor Ruto and Pastor Kingori because when Pastor Kingori decided to move on with the ministry @ Neema, Ruto never said a word even after some members leaving his church. Today because of been queit about whole saga, he is most respected man of God in Dallas today. They are working together ( upendo and Neema ) to preach good news to thousand unchurch individual kenyans in Dallas. I pray many church open at every corner and more people to join those churches and injili iedelee. Ngobia is a loner, he never like to join other Ministers, He's always on the oposing side. Now, Rev Mugo will be tested whether he will be like Ruto and Kingori or Like Ngobia. time will tell.

  5. I agree with you about Pastor Ruto...he could have done more to Pastor Kingori if he was after money. This act of putting another preacher into trouble shows that there was more to just preaching the word of God....maybe how much money will be lost with the followers leaving?...I get that from the whole idea of calling INS on a preacher.

  6. I have tremendous respect for Ruto and Kingori especially. Pastor Kingori after realizing what he had done, as a man of God, he went and reconciliated with Ruto. It was a massive service and people learnt about forgiveness. But look at what has happened to Kingori after all this. So Mugo, whatever you plant you shall sow. so as much as You guys are pointing fingers at Pastor Ngobia, does Mugo have anything that he can do? Does he not preach forgiveness and reconcialiation as well? Or is he allowed to harbour bitterness and tarnish a fellow brother in Christ. Let me remind you, we serve God by example.

    PEOPLE SHOULD LEARN A LESSON.
I THINK WE NEED TO KNOW THE COMMENTS OF SOME PEOPLES FORMER HIGH SCHOOL HEADTEACHERS, SUNDAY SCHOOL TAECHERS, LOCAL SUB-CHIEF, NEIGHBOURS....kana ciana cia itura...SO THAT WE CAN KNOW HOW DANGEROUS THEY ARE "DANGEROUS"..

  10. I did not know that even bishops could be so cheap as to exchange such dirty propaganda on the internet.I do not think the bishop or naybody else has the mandate to tarnish somebody elses name in the name of God.the rev. Rovell and Rt Rev. Githaga as he is reffered to here(god knows from where) should know better and resolve the matter in amore professional and Godly manner.we are in the era of globalization and let not the cleargy think they can contain people in their padora box of ignorance.let whoever want to plant a church plant it wherever he/she wants.Jesus said let the wheat and the chaff grow together, God will separate them at his own time.my advise would be :if anybody want to know about the crimes committed by rev. mugo in his country(if there be) should do a thorough investigation from kamwangi church congregation.for somebody to tell us that the whole church was incited by one person to lock the bishop out of the church compound would be tantamount to rendering the kamwangi congregation brainless.if not then mugo would only be said to be gifted in gannering popular support which could be the reason why his coleagues in Dallas are worried about him. there is a lot of petty politics here.(concerned kenyan anglican)

  12. Ngobia's Daughter, Ann who is illegally in the USA should also be deported back to Kenya. Kenya has equally good schools for those pursuing medicine.

  13. No body should be deported neither mugo nor Annie...But Mugo is a silent criminal and he should be investigated by both ICE and FBI.

  16. Call a spade a spade. Both mugo and ngobia are spades. They are hooligans. They are no better than thugs misleading God-seeking people. No normal black african leave about a pastor dare call immigration on a fellow african. And no pastor will sue for peoples' donations. God's case is not settled in courts people. What bible do y'all read? These two guys need to be put where they belong: be deported to run for political offices in kenya and if not elected become street thugs.

That is true. A wrong does not make the preceding wrong a right. Ngobia was wrong, Mugo is wrong. They both preach a message of hypocrisy. All sensible and God-seeking Kenyans should do what is right; boycott these so-called 'churches' and look for Heaven-seeking churches. Guys, life is too short. watch out before Jesus comes back and find you wrapped up in mugo-ngobia politics. Believe me He will tell you, 'I DO NOT KNOW YOU!' You cannot harvest oranges from a fig tree!
